It is also important to know what your full Windows version is, you can view that by going to the Settings app -> System -> About, and then it will be listed as the OS Build, for example 19042.421 Also, include as much information about your computer as possible, including the specs of your hardware, and/or the full make and model of your computer. If you have not already, be sure to include as much information about your issue that you can, including any error messages, error codes, what steps it takes to create the issue, and what you have done to troubleshoot. You may want to also post this on r/TechSupport for more exposure. This is not a generic tech support subreddit, so your post may be removed if your issue is not related to Windows, even if your computer has Windows installed. You have selected the Help post flair, which is to request assistance with the Windows 10 OS and its related systems.

Look up voicemeeter and virtual audio cable. You could try to use Nvidia Shadowplay or AMD depending on your card if you can't find a fix but the downside of using them is potentially big: they can't record just game audio and if you're used to having Spotify/YouTube on the background for music, you will need to use software to reroute sound sources. Different games, happens rarely but I haven't found the cause. Only other issue I have come across with Game Bar is that sometimes the audio is distorted a bit. I needed to do this to get my clips from RE7 last week because it doesn't support windowed borderles. If a game only supports fullscreen, just make sure to press Win+Alt+G when you tab back into it. This will solve that and it's more handy even if you don't have secondary monitors. If you're in fullscreen and the game allows it, use windowed fullscreen (or windowed borderles). This could be the explanation of your shorter clips if you tabbed out since it stopped recording and just resumed when you tabbed back in.

If you're playing a game in fullscreen and tab out to do other stuff sometimes it can cause issues or not activate to start recording again.
